  New Jersey Boater's Guides

The Grant F. Walton Center for Remote Sensing and Spatial Analysis (CRSSA), Rutgers University, has partnered with various governmental and non-profit organizations, such as NJDEP Fish & Wildlife, NJ Sea Grant Consoritum, and the Marine Trades Association of NJ, to produce the 'New Jersey Boater's Guide' map series.

The 'Boater's Guide to Barnegat Bay and Little Egg Harbor' and the 'New Jersey Boater's Pumpout Guide', both color fold-out maps printed on waterproof paper, promote responsible boating and improved water quality with location-based information, as well as associated educational and reference text.

The website, 'njboating.org', intended for NJ trailer boaters, is a Google Maps application for your web browser to view boat ramp locations in New Jersey, to access descriptions of each ramp location, and to download the 67-page boat ramp document from NJDEP Fish & Wildlife.

> IMPORTANT: This webpage is for the boater's map information at CRSSA. For full boater information, please go to the NJDEP Fish and Wildlife Clean Vessel Act webpage, the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey webpage (go to 'boater information'), and NJDOT Boater's Resources.

The New Jersey Boaters' Ramp Guide project was completed by New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium (NJSGC) staff, Michael J. Danko, Rory Joyce, Georgeann Sobotka, and Jessica Staats. NJSGC is grateful to the I BOAT NJ Program for funding this assessment and guide. The team would like to thank everyone who provided guidance, editorial comments and information to the project, especially Boat US Trailering Magazine, Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, New Jersey State Police and Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers. A special thank you to Rory Joyce from NJSGC and Genevieve Boehm Clifton from New Jersey Department of Transportation Office of Maritime Resources for persevering with the project as it evolved into its final format, and to the New Jersey Sea Grant Extension Program and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Division of Fish and Wildlife for contributing additional funds towards printing. Finally, we would like to thank all the boat ramp owners for supplying the information necessary to complete this project and for agreeing to be listed in the New Jersey Boater's Ramp Guide. Their willingness to provide access to the water affords us the opportunity to enjoy water-based recreational type activities such as boating, fishing, hunting and wildlife viewing.
